Local Break: Formerly Freshwater West, now it's Porthcawl area.
Places Surfed: UK, Severn Bore, Ireland, France, N.Spain, S.Portugal, Oz, Indo, Barbados, Feurteventura, Mexico, Morocco, Ecuador.
Favourite Surf Films: Big Wednesday, Thicker Than Water, Shelter, Better Days, Glass Love, Sprout, Step Into Liquid, The Seedling, Sprout.
Worst Wipeout: BHS - 7ft wedge anhiliation, dragged inside and deposited on beach with someone else's leash around my neck and a bloody mouth.
Lacanau, France - 6-8ft closeouts, sucked over into waist deep water onto board with my head. Came up seeing stars and staggered up beach with minor concussion.
Garie beach, Oz - started to black out after a 3 wave hold down. Not something I'd wish to repeat. My fav spot in the whole world - welsh point break
Favourite Manoeuvre: Getting covered & sharp, full rail cutties.
Favourite Surfers: Donavon, Egan, Rasta, Curren, Margo, Occy, MR, Malloy's, Greenough, Machado, Tudor.
Worst Surfing Habit: Making klaxon noises when big sets appear, shouting at people for pulling back, looking for barrels and waving 'goodbye' to friends caught inside.
Best Surfing Experience: Surfing early at Lennox Head with one other surfer in and a huge dolphin surfing with us. Getting properly shacked in France '05 on my backhand.
Meeting MR, Simon Anderson, Wayne Lynch, Phippsy on the Quiksilver shapers tour was good fun. Feurte reef - late drop pic by dave
Weirdest Surfing Experience: Being followed repeatedly by a large dark shape in Victoria, Oz > Great White territory and eventually calling it a day when it appeared in a wave in front of me.

Also surfing in Bundaberg in Queensland on a cyclone swell - it never normally has surf due to the Barrier Reef so I was very lucky. Flew into Mexico 1 day after a Category 5 ('catastrophic') hurricane hit - luckily the hotel survived.
Other Interests: Photography, fishing, spear fishing, playing harmonica & guitar, ancient history, archaelology, shipwrecks, diving, wildlife, growing veg, snowboarding & watching Wales win @ rugby.
