Local Break: Newgale closest to work, but I like to travel a bit further- FW, Manorbier before the boom, North pembs and Cardiganshire, a couple of other spots in pembs that are still fairly quiet.
Places Surfed: Pembs, Cornwall, Canaries, Africa - Sierra Leone.
Favourite Surf Films: Apocalypse Now, Outside, the Elusive, Big Wednesday
Worst Wipeout: Taking off on a Cardiganshire reef last year, and realising that there was nothing but dry rock underneath me, and thinking to myself a) this is gonna hurt, and bizarrely b) my boss is gonna kill me when I turn up in traction - I'm meant to be going overseas and he's going to think I've done this deliberately! Turned out to be only an average beating though, with no serious injuries.
Favourite Manoeuvre: They're all fairly sweet.
Best Surfing Experience: Any of them where I'm out with the lads, living the dream really.
Weirdest Surfing Experience: Lying on a beach in Sierra Leone, wishing I'd brought a board with me, it's about 3 feet, peeling off a point on Tokey Beach, and offshore. Water is crystal and warm, and then some local guy turns up, as if by magic, and is hiring out his apparently home made single fin mini mal, which may or may not have once been a full-on noserider. Had a storming afternoon after a morning of kicking myself for not having my board. Cheers local guy!
Other Interests: Playing the guitar and bass guitar. Snowboarding when I can, occasionally skateboarding, but find that the older I get, the less forgiving the skateboard. Also, consumption of fermented vegetable products when all else fails. Usual stuff really.
