Name: Paul Rees
Age: 30 in 3 months....aaaaagh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Job: Systems Engineer (no, not very impressive is it)
Years Surfing: 4 and still rubbish.
Habitat: Swansea, Morriston.
Boards: 3
Quiver: 6'10" Hydro Active - with learner plates, 6'10" Tuflite Pancho Sullivan, sounds impressive but I'm still rubbish, 9'2" Stewart Hyro Hull - cruise mobeeel about to be replaced with a fresh tuflite model.
Local Break: 'Gennith.
Places Surfed: South Wales, Cornwall, France, Barbados, Mentawai Islands (Indo), Lanzarote, Fuerteventura.
Favourite Surf Films: DVD of my last Indo trip, always good to laugh at your own lack of skill on t.v!
Worst Wipeout: Indonesia, Napussi break. Pulled over the back of the biggest wave of my life (4 foot overhead) to see an even bigger wave about to land on me - it did, held me down for about 10 seconds, send me deep into pitch black and scared the living s*it out of me. I went back this year and surfed it again wearing my brown board shorts.
Favourite Manoeuvre: I wouldn't even pretend to do 'manoeuvers' - head down and go! That's my style whilst trying to remain upright.
Worst Surfing Habit: Being absolutely awful on my backhand.
Best Surfing Experience: Catching my one and old ever tube at 'Burgerworld' - I was barely in but that's good enough for me!
Weirdest Surfing Experience: Surfing along a wave in Indo with a school of bright yellow fish swimming along the wave underneath me, think I may have stunned a few when I landed on them.
Other Interests: Golf and alcohol, what else do you need ?!
