6 dance classics we need to hear again in Ibiza

You may have your bikini packed and your plane ticket booked, or you may be kicking it back in the UK all summer. Either way, it’s time to get excited about , which is set to provide the soundtrack to an epic summer in the White Isle.

For starters, there’s so much to love on Radio 1’s Essential Ibiza playlist. And while we’ve been obsessed by newer tracks from the likes of Offaiah recently, it’s also got us feeling, well, a little bit nostalgic. We’ve rounded up some of the best old school Radio 1 Ibiza classics to get you dreaming of back in the day…

This blissful Balearic classic dates from seminal British dance duo Orbital's second eponymous album (otherwise known as The Brown Album) from 1993.

It's been used on the soundtracks for films such as Mean Girls (yes, really) but we think it would sound best while watching the sun slip down over the waves...

It wouldn't be summer in Ibiza without a bit of Fatboy Slim, and it's impossible not to feel excited from the first swoony bars of this 1999 big beat classic.

Think you don't really want or need to hear free flowing saxaphone on your dance records? Well, this record, a perfect remix of French DJ and producer Laurent Garnier's classic track The Man With The Red Face, will make you think again. This is one of the most uplifting, beautiful slow burns you'll ever hear.

If this track was a person, it would be celebrating its 30th birthday this year - and probably heading off to Ibiza to celebrate. A classic from the early days of Chicago House, it just never stops sounding amazing.

Released at the turn of the decade, this track from German producer Coma Cat is one of the most shimmering, bright and summery dance tracks ever - perfect for a spot of beach or poolside raving.

This massive piano based house track, by Swedish DJ and producer Eric Prydz, has been a Radio 1 favourite since it was released back in 2008. also made a drum'n'bass remix of the track.

A definite banger with a beautiful melody too, we need to hear this in Ibiza season.
