What to expect when Louis Tomlinson visits The Radio 1 Breakfast Show
It's almost a One Direction full house. Louis Tomlinson drops his new single, Back To You, on Friday and he'll be celebrating that by joining Nick Grimshaw on for an early morning chat.
He'll be the fourth 1D star to visit Radio 1 in 2017. Now all we need is a visit from Zayn to complete the set.
Louis previously teamed up with Steve Aoki for Top Ten hit Just Hold On in December 2016 and his new tune features some very special friends too. Back To You features dance producers Digital Farm Animals and rising US pop starlet Bebe Rexha - so expect something a little special from this one.
Here's what we want to hear more about when he chats to Radio 1.
1. Sounding different to every other One Direction solo single
Every former 1D boy has hit the music scene with a different vibe and Louis is no different. Zayn has power-pop and r&b nailed, Harry has impressed the world with a classic rock and roll vibe, Niall has the folk-pop market cornered and Liam's smashing it with urban, tropical house sounds.
Louis has teased Back To You on his Instagram and here's what it sounds like.
Here's what it sounds like with a bit of singing on it.
We are into this.
2. His love for sportswear
BRB, just popping out to buy a tracksuit.
3. Taking Bebe Rexha to Doncaster Rovers
Bebe Rexha is quite a glamourous singer and she probably thought she'd be enjoying the high-life by teaming up with a member of one of the world's biggest boybands of all time.
Then he took her to Doncaster Rovers to pose for promotional photos. We'd love to know what she thought of her day out at the footy.
4. Being late to the solo career (because baby)
Louis was the first One Direction star to become a father after the band went on their extended hiatus. His son Freddie was born in January 2016 - so he's had more important things on his mind while he's been watching his former bandmates make their mark on the pop world.
But now Liam Payne has had his first child, perhaps he can pass on some parenting advice when he's on the show?
5. Being the 'open' one
Louis has done very few interviews as a solo artist but he has already shown he's a very open and honest pop artist.
"You know I didn’t sing a single solo on the X Factor," he said in a 2017 interview with The Guardian.
"Think about how that feels, standing on stage every single week, thinking: 'What have I really done to contribute here? Sing a lower harmony that you can’t really hear in the mix?'"
He describes himself then as "The kid wearing espadrilles, stood in’t back" but we think that reputation is long in the past, especially once he drops Back To You on a fully prepared and expecting world.
