6 stars due to drop new music any day now
MAJOR NEWS KLAXON! The beehive is positively buzzing with rumours that Queen B is about to bless our sound waves with new music. We told you it was major.
Now, while this rumour is still in its infancy (the 'a source close to the singer says...' stage, if you catch our drift), it's succeeded in its bid to get us well and truly amped up for some more Beyoncé excellence. Will she spill more tea on Jay-Z? Will Sir and Rumi feature? Will Blue Ivy blow us all away with another freestyle? Either way, we're psyched.
Is Beyonc茅 about to drop some new music?
The singer has apparently been writing and recording since the twins were born...
Bey's supposed new music aside (don't make us beg, B!), these artists are due to drop new music aaaaany day now. (Right, guys?!) We're waiting...
Sam Smith
Cast your mind back to May of 2014... What were you doing? We know what we were doing: listening to Sam Smith's debut album on repeat.
Three years have passed since then and, with the exception of 'Writing's On The Wall' (the theme song for James Bond film, Spectre), we're pining pretty hard for some Sam Smith newness. The good news? It looks like it's coming our way.
Prior to sharing the above cryptic Instagram post (what does 'one last holiday' MEAN, Sam?! Are the tracks imminent?!), the singer teased new music with multiple Instagram posts (some featuring superstar producer, Timbaland), simply captioned: 'Recording x'
Speaking to Billboard last year, Sam revealed a little more about what we can expect from the follow-up album: “It’s really deep [stuff] that’s coming out — that’s all I’ll say. Every day I’m having little epiphanies and changes and loving it. But all I can say is that I’m putting my heart even more out on the line. I’m going even deeper. I can’t believe I’m even doing it, but I’m going even deeper.”
Sia
What's better than a new Sia album? Nothing? We feel you. But - hear us out - what about a new Sia CHRISTMAS ALBUM?! Yup, prepare to get all sorts of excited because it's a thing and it's coming our way in December (when else?!).
Previously signed with RCA, Sia's announcement comes after signing with Atlantic, and her Christmas album will be the first released on the new label. Atlantic's CEO, Craig Kallman, and COO, Julie Greenwalk, had nothing but praise for their newest artist in a recent statement: "Sia is a once-in-a-generation artist. Her extraordinary gifts as a singer and songwriter, her revolutionary approach to the art of performing, her groundbreaking videos – everything she does comes from a deep wellspring of inspiration and imagination."
Prepare to stuff your stockings with stellar vocals and festive feels galore.
Kesha
It's been a long time coming but a new album from Kesha is on the horizon and, fittingly, it's called 'Rainbow'.
Writing in Lenny Letter about the process that brought about the upcoming album, Kesha said: "There were so many days, months even, when I didn't want to get out of bed... But I dragged myself out of bed and took my emotions to the studio and made art out of them. And I have never been happier with a body of work as I am with this record. I hope this song reaches people who are in the midst of struggles, to let them know that no matter how bad it seems now, you can get through it."
The 11th of August couldn't come sooner.
PartyNextDoor
We could wax, ahem, lyrical about the big plans PartyNextDoor has up his musical sleeve, or we could let him school you himself...
Promising...
Very promising, indeed...
WOAH.
Is this one epic collaboration track? Is a new album incoming? It was only in June that the artist dropped 'Colours 2' and he's been non-stop since then, even penning RiRi's catchy-as hook and verses in DJ Khaled's 'Wild Thoughts'. PartyNextDoor (A.K.A. Jahron Anthony Brathwaite), we commend your dedication to swiftly and successfully taking over the music world.
Jorja Smith
OK, we've got no leads on this one but we're holding tight for an album by breakout star and Drake collaborator, Jorja Smith.
Bursting on the scene with her EP 'Project 11' back in 2016, the Brit singer has since released single 'Teenage Fantasy' (1.3 million views on YouTube and counting...), toured with Drizzy and featured on the 大象传媒 Music Sound of 2017 longlist, as voted for by 170 international industry figures. Not bad, eh?
All things considered, we're keeping our fingers crossed for an album from the Walsall-born sensation.
Mumford & Sons
It was back in 2K15 that Mumford & Sons debuted a slightly different sound on their album, Wilder Mind.
Fast forward two years and it seems as though the band are cooking up a storm in the studio: "We all feel slightly different about the next album,” instrumentalist Winston Marshall told NME. “But I feel like we’ve got a really good chunk of the record done, although there’s still a lot more to do. If you’re going to write an album of 10 songs, our attitude is that you need to write 30 and choose 10... good ones. We could probably put out a not-so-good album right now, but it’s better to wait and put out a great one.”
We're ready, guys. We're ready.
