The nicest things the One Direction boys have ever said about each other

Major news: a One Direction email thread exists

We have so many questions. Here's what Niall had to say about it...

Another day, another One Direction headline. Do the guys like each other? Do they talk anymore? Who's snubbed who recently? Is there really some serious shade being thrown? WILL THERE EVER BE A REUNION?!

Cue Niall Horan, well and truly quashing those rumours in an interview to The Straits Times.

"The media usually likes to create rivalry between us, but it's great that they can't because we're all releasing different types of music. I've heard Liam's new song and Louis' stuff, and they've heard some of mine. It's good to have that because we will be honest with each other if we don't like it, especially because we've done that for so many years."

As well as dishing on their low-key listening parties (any invites flying around, guys?), Niall chatted about the ongoing One Direction email thread, proving that not only are the boys still friends, they're also incredibly old school.

But that's not the only time the former 1D bandmates have given us an insight into their bezzie-ness. Here's some sweet-as quotes from the fellas on their friendship...

Niall

That 'feud' between Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson? Well according to Niall, it didn't happen.

Discrediting the rumours and re-affirming the band's brotherly love, Niall put his 140 characters to use:

"We stand strong as a band and we're brothers" is music to our ears, Niall.

Harry

Chatting to Australia's 60 Minutes in late 2014, Hazza caused us to let out one, never-ending 'awwww'...

"We're lucky that we do get on. The relationship that I've grown with these four boys who I didn't know three years ago is absolutely insane, and it's incredible. I am very lucky that I get to spend so much time with them. There could have been one person who just didn't get on with anyone and no one liked, but it isn't like that."

Louis

Ever wondered how the former fivesome worked through fights? Wonder no more. Speaking to the Mirror back in 2014, Louis spilled the beans on 1D beef...

“We all actually find it difficult to stay annoyed with each other, which is a good thing. Like, if one of the guys did something to annoy me, and in my head I was like, ‘Right, to prove a point to him, I’m going to really have to stay annoyed for so long,’ I just can’t do it. I think life’s too short. If you start a friendship and you’re happy with it, what’s the point of losing it over something that’s probably petty?”

But if that isn't enough to quench your thirst for loved-up One Direction moments, Louis gave us this gem while chatting to Top Of The Pops magazine:

"I think 'family' is probably the best way of describing us. It's different to friendship."

Liam

From 2014 to 2017 and the birth of Liam and Cheryl's baby Bear (no doubt one of many ), and it seems as though the boys are just as tight.

Dishing on his baby shower plans, Liam assured the world that 1D were firmly on the guestlist: "Do you know what, I’m doing some sort of like, it’s like the man’s equivalent of the baby shower. It’s the head wetting thing. I’ve had to put it off for a little bit because of work things. But it’s coming round soon.

I’ve put around the invite to the rest of the boys saying to come. I don’t think Harry can make it but I think Niall’s gonna swing by. We’ve got a little golf course thing going on in the back garden and he can’t resist a bit of golf that boy."

Zayn

Hearts around the world shattered when Zayn Malik broke the news that he was leaving One Direction but, pre-empting our fragile state, the singer made sure to leave things on a good note: "I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."

*sobs*

Fast forward a few months and 1D released the nostalgia-laden video for History. What did Zayn think of it? Was he as nostalgic as the rest of us? WILL THERE BE A REUNION?! Rumours swirled that the formerly friendly feels weren't quite as prevalent between Zayn and the rest of 1D, but the Mind Of Mine gave us all a shred of hope in an interview with Zach Sang & The Gang...

"I’ve seen the music video, it’s cool. Yeah, it was cool. I liked the fact they were nostalgic, shall we say, about the memories that we shared together. It was a positive thing. I enjoyed it, it was nice to look back at the memories that we shared together.”
